NEW SERIES: "The Time is Midnight" by Leinad Guso [...a story about Love & Survival]

Shutting her eyes quickly, she moves some more, much closer to his smooth shaven face. His lips are just whiskers away from her lips. She feels something warm on her neck. It is his tongue, gently teasing, drawing tiny circles at first. He takes his time. He always does.

He is no rush to fnish this soon. His patience knows no boundary. If only he can be this patient when it comes to his projects. He knows what he wants and he wants it now. He has always been a determined man, always striving where others give up.

"Tell me your secrets" he whispers close to her ears, cutting into her thoughts with very little effort. His voice barely audible under the loud beats of her heart.

A highly organized man, Guso is an Alpha Male, in every sense of the word. One wouldn't be wrong to say he can literally do anything. He reads a lot and that bothers her sometimes.

His genius state of mind means he is perpetually busy being proactive. It's like a curse. Oh, Guso is a busy man. It is a normal for him not to have the time to complete his day to day activities everyday.

Yet in the midst of it all, he seem to always be there whenever she needs him. It's like a miracle. An involuntary sigh escaped her lips.

But not tonight, tonight he is in control. Total control. Tonight he is not busy, as she can sense from his body temperature. United in body and spirit, he feels so warm.

She sighed in an expectation of pleasure and snuggled ever so closer to him. He smells good. He has been using the same perfume and body spray for more than 5 years. It's stuck on his body. He has made it his natural scent. Oh, how she love to 'smell' him.

"Tell me your secrets," He asked again, turning her face to look into her eyes.

She thought about it for a second and then whispered, "I don't have any secrets"; which is true.

She didn't see the reason to tell him about secrets that has nothing to do with him or their relationship of 8 months. Meeting Guso was a first time love experience for her and she prays everyday it will also be the last. He is everything she ever wanted in a man. A blend of softness and toughness that is unparalleled. He knows exactly when to switch on each button for the maximum effect.

It amazes her how on earth Guso can exercise such power and control over her emotions. It can be so annoying at times, especially the times he pisses her off and she determines she must stay angry. Unfortunately it never ends well for her, emotionally. No matter how hard she tries, she can never stay angry with Guso for long.

Growing up in a family of 4 and being the youngest girl didn't help her situation in any way. Born two decades and some away in the southern part of Nigeria in West Africa, Jennifer Effiong is an embodiment of a 'spoilt child'. Given her position in her family, she, most times, get what she wants. It was a character trait that grew up with her till she met and fell in love with Guso. Her remarkable tantrums and stubborn attitudes are a force to reckon with in their family while growing up. Inside all these stubbornness and 'narcissistic' behaviour, Jennifer is wise and full of grace.

Jennifer has this life mantra of substituting the Golden Rule which states "Do unto others as you would like them to do unto you" with a remixed version of "Do unto others as they would like to be dealt with".  She often argues that 'the way we want people to treat us might not be the way they would want to be treated too.' 'Everyone is different,' according to her and should be treated exactly as they wished.

"... so what do you think we should do", ... she just caught the tail end of that. Omg! Guso has been talking to her and her mind has wandered, as usual. She sighs... again, shaking her head.

"Oh baby, so sorry, my mind wandered." She kisses him softly on the lips "You know once you get this close to me, i skip a lot" she laughingly adds.

She heard what he said alright. They don't seem to have many options. The time is now. A decision must be made. There's no going back. 'What has happened has happened'

"I think we should kill her" she blurted out, emotionless.
